Carl Ericson did not grow up in a Christian home, though he was familiar with many Bible stories from regularly attending church. After graduating from The Citadel in 1974, he began his career as a Marine Corps infantry officer and married the love of his life, Pam, in 1976. Carl first came to understand the gospel in 1980 through an expositional series through the book of Hebrews. He repented of his sins and was baptized at the age of 27.
Carl has served as a deacon and as an elder in other churches before joining RCBC. In May 2020, Carl moved to Richmond and began attending RCBC during its core meeting phase in September 2021. Carl and Pam became members when the church covenanted in February 2022. Pam went home to be with Jesus that June.
Carl has served RCBC in various capacities, including being a home group leader and our deacon of local evangelism. He also volunteers as a sidewalk counselor with Speak For The Unborn. In his free time, he enjoys running, golfing, and visiting his adult son and two granddaughters in Connecticut. Carl is thankful to God for the opportunity to serve RCBC as one of its shepherds.
