River city baptist church Loves College Students!

One of the most exciting things about being a local church in Richmond is the proximity to students from campuses across the city. Whether you are looking for a new church home or are interested in learning more about Christianity, we’d love to meet you. As a newer church, our college ministry is still growing so it’s an exciting time to join us! Basically, we do three things:

Bi-weekly College Bible Study

Every other week during the semester, we host a lunch for college students (and college-aged people in the workforce). It’s completely free and open to church members and visitors! While we eat lunch, one of our students leads an informal discussion about the sermon we just heard in the morning worship service. This is a great time to meet other students, study God’s Word, and get to know our church a little better.

Quarterly events

We try to get together at least twice a semester to do something fun! These events provide another opportunity to build relationships and encourage one another in the gospel. Sometimes they take place where we meet for church; sometimes they take place at a church member’s home. But they’re always a good time—and, yes, there’s almost always free food.

One-To-one mentorship

Your college years, whether you know it or not, can set the trajectory for the rest of your life. Getting to know fellow students is great but we all need people who have been following Jesus a lot longer than us (sometimes longer than we’ve been alive) to help us navigate life in a fallen world. We’d love to pair you up with a member of our church to read the Bible, pray, and share life with.
