Chas grew up in a Christian home and is deeply thankful for godly parents who faithfully shared the gospel with him, brought him to church, and modeled a consistent Christian life. From a young age, Chas was aware of his sin and need for grace. Though he initially professed faith as a child, it was during his teenage years that the Lord brought him to a deeper understanding of the gospel—particularly that salvation rests not in his own human effort, but only in the finished work of Christ. Through the patient counsel of faithful pastors, good books, and the steady witness of Scripture, Chas came to rejoice in the truth that there is more grace in Christ than sin in him.
Chas studied at Murray State University, where he met his wonderful wife, Sara. They were married and moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where they spent seven years as committed members of Third Avenue Baptist Church—a season that proved especially formative in shaping his love for the local church and deepening his reliance on Christ.
In 2021, Chas and Sara moved with other families to help plant River City Baptist Church as covenanting members. Chas has served joyfully as a deacon and Home Group Leader for several years and has grown in his love for RCBC through that ministry. Chas is thankful for the opportunity to serve as an elder and desires to walk alongside the members of RCBC as a shepherd, helping them love and enjoy Jesus more.
Chas and Sara have been married for ten years and have three children. Chas works in the technology field and enjoys time with his family, reading good books, and learning new musical instruments.
